((Note: This whole story is not canon to the RP. This section takes place during Chapter 47.))

As Eric and Kaitlyn went up the stairs to one of the rooms, the woman explained to him, "Now one of the things a housekeeper does is making the beds and we are going to be doing that now." Just after she said that, she unlocked one of the doors with a key and opened it to a room that looked like it was rented. There were suitcases laying beside a wall, two queen-sized beds, a TV on a stand and a round wooden table with two chairs of the same material. Kaitlyn asked, "So Eric, you know how to make a bed?"

The man answered, "Of course I do. Doesn't everybody do that?" He continued as he pretended to make an invisible bed, "You just got to pull the sheets back into place and tuck the edges of bottom one under the bed. Make the sheets look flat and pull out any wrinkles you see."

Kaitlyn smiled at him like she was pleased with him being correct. "Yes, most do unless they're mentally-disabled. Anyway, I'm going to mess up one of the beds and then you show me how it's done." She went to one of the beds and pulled the sheets off of one side to fold it halfway in a messy manner, making it look like someone had just slept on the bed. She turned to the man and told him, "Okay, get to it, Eric."

Eric went to that bed and fixed it neatly, making it look just the way it was before the woman messed it up. He even fluffed the pillows for added measure, even though it might not be one of a housekeeper's duties. Once the bed was made, he turned back to the woman and asked smiling, "So did I do a good job or what?"

Kaitlyn told gladly, "It looks perfect! That's how beds should look like after making them up. We want them really neat and tidy every morning."

Eric said with a nod, "Okay, got it. So what else do we do around here?"

The woman answered, "We also have take out the garbage from the cans; restock the toilet paper; change the bathroom towels; clean the showers, toilets and sinks; dust the rooms; spray air fresheners and every Saturday, change the bed sheets, rugs and linens. You got all that?"

The man imagined himself being overwhelmed by these many tasks he would do on the job. He would probably get tired after all this. He spoke uncomfortably, "Gee, that sounds like hard work having to go from room to room to do all that."

Kaitlyn giggled and commented, "It is, but you'll get used to it overtime. Now come on, I'm going to go show you where the supplies are to do all that."

"I'm coming,"
Eric responded. He followed her out the room and they made their way to where the supplies are.

Once there, Kaitlyn opened a door to what looks like closet. Turns out it wasn't as the door revealed a light room with all the cleaning tools and the disposables such as toilet papers, paper towels, tissue boxes and vinyl gloves were stacked on shelves. She told him, "This is where we keep all our stuff for the job." She pointed to a laundry cart and said, "This blue cart over there is what we use to put all the dirty sheets and towels in there. We take that with us when changing the bed sheets and stuff." Then she pointed to the other cart, which was wired and had two platforms on it. "And this is what we put the clean stuff on and carry them to rooms. You can even carry the cleaning tools on them."

Eric said, "Okay, got it. So where are the clean towels and sheets?"

"I'll show you them on Saturday. Anyway, we're going to be starting this job now. Are you ready?"

"Yes I am,"
Eric answered. "So what am I going to do first?"

The woman told him, "Well I've already taken care of the rooms downstairs and I was supposed to be doing the upstairs soon. But since you're here, I'm going to be assisting you so you can remember what to do."

The man smiled, thankful that his task was going to be easy with her around. "Well that's good. I guess that means I'll get to relax early after this."

"Yes early," nodded Kaitlyn. She raised a finger and told him, "But after a few days, you'll be working the same number of hours as I do, which by the way are ten. Think you can handle that?"

Eric had mixed feelings about this. On the good side, he'll be getting paid more for each hour. But on the bad side, he could possibly become tired with all the labor. He replied, "Well ten hours does sound like a lot, but this is my first time as a housekeeper, so who knows?"

The woman replied, "Well then, let's test out your stamina. Let's gather the cleaning tools and the disposables and put them onto the wired cart." The man took the cart and moved it over next to the supplies. On the top platform, they put the air freshener, a box of dust wipes, the duster and the cleaning sprays. The bottom platform is where they put the disposables. Kaitlyn carried the broom and the dustpan. With everything set, she told her new coworker, "This way."

As he followed her out the door, pushing the cart and asked, "So how many rooms are there?"

She answered, "There's only twenty upstairs; downstairs has only fifteen."

"So that's five more rooms for me."

"Yes, but it's not that much of a difference. You can still endure that."
Then she looked at the room door in front of them and said, "Anyway, let's go start with that room." She opened the door and they went to clean the room. Kaitlyn trained him on everything to do.

After cleaning the upstairs rooms of dust, stains and germs as well as putting disposables for rooms that were running out, Eric and Kaitlyn were now sweeping and mopping the hallway floor. Eric swept the dust into the dustpan, while Kaitlyn used the mop to wash his path. The pair was halfway done when suddenly they heard a sound of glass breaking from inside the room. It was followed by a draconic screech and the screams of a mother and her young child. The workers stopped what they were doing and quickly turned their heads to the door where they heard the sounds from. Eric, having been startled, asked, "What was that?!"

Kaitlyn, just as spooked, replied, "It sounds like trouble!" She dropped the mop and went to open the door. Eric held onto the broom in case he had to attack someone with it. After the woman opened the door, they found a terrified woman on the bed, holding her frightened daughter tightly to protect her. Also with them was a small black dragoness nearly the size of a human. On her orange wings were beads, feathers, and thin cords of sinew. On her face were two pairs of red eyes. Below the snarling dragoness were shards of broken glass, having been smashed from the window behind her where the dragoness busted in.

The little girl looked up to her mother and cried, "Mommy, don't let it eat me!"

Kaitlyn said to them, "Hang on, we're going to save you!" Then she looked to her coworker and told him, "Eric, do something! Hit it with your broom or whatever." The man looked at the dragoness and assessed her. He wondered if he should do what his friend's sister say or try to pacify the creature. Eric was a natural at soothing aggressive organism, though his ability was passive and he didn't know why. The dragoness did break in through the window, probably to try to make a meal out of someone. Maybe should chase her out.

The dragoness mocked the brunette woman's words, "Hit me with a broom. Hah! I'd like to see him try!"

Eric held his broom out towards her and got ready to attack in case she tried anything. He hoped it wouldn't come to a fight, but if he must, he will. He asked her, "Who are you and why did you break in here like that?"

The dragoness, making a sneering open-tooth smile, responded back with a question of her own, "Aren't you supposed to introduce yourself first?"

The man guessed he should if he wanted to know this creature's business. He replied, "Alright then, I'm Eric. Now can you please answer my question?"

The dragoness answered, "Alright sure, I broke in here so I can have some fun scaring that little twerp and her momma." She eyed the child hungrily with her tongue licking her chops. The fearful girl buried her face in her mother's chest. The parent sent the creature a defiant glare, but with her fear still readable on her face.

Kaitlyn got annoyed as she threw her arms down and asked, "Really?! You vandalized this inn so you could scare some people? You mirror dragons are some real pests!"

"Aren't we all?"
said the mirror shamelessly. "I could care less about causing property damages. I just want to have some fun." She smirked maliciously. "And now that I've had it, I can just leave happy." With that, she climbed up to the sill and left through the window hole she made.

Eric rushed to the window and called, "Hey wait, you didn't even tell me who you are?"

The dragoness continued to fly away without looking back as she sneered, "You said answer your question, not answer your questions. So I just pick one of them. So long, losers!"

The man frowned at having being avoided just like that. He let out a quiet sigh and walked away from the window. "She's gone and we didn't even get her name." The mother and daughter began to relax, feeling glad that the dragoness was no longer around and that she didn't come here to hurt them.

But Kaitlyn was still mad as she threw her fist down and yelled, "Darn! Now how am I going to get the Aquarians to catch that pest?!"

"Aquarians?"
asked Eric curiously.

His coworker explained, "They're these armored dragons who protect the city. They're like police dragons. They just came here after Windfall was built."

Eric suggested, "If they're just like the police, maybe we can still describe to them what the dragoness looks like and they can go after her." The Aquarians could even smell the dragoness's scent where she used to stand and use that scent to find her.

But Kaitlyn shot down the idea, "She's a mirror dragon, Eric, and she looks just like the rest of her kind. The Aquarians will have to interrogate every single one of them they catch before they find the real jerk."

"Well can't we just tell them about the beads and stuff she has on her? She could stand out from the others like this."

"I suppose so,"
she said, not finding this idea to be bad. "I just hope she has them on everyday or getting justice to her is going to take like forever."

From what Eric was hearing from her, it sounds like there were lots of mirror dragons in Windfall. He questioned her about it, "Are mirror dragons common in this city?"

"Yes they are,"
Kaitlyn confirmed. "People used to hunt them to keep them from causing all sorts of troubles. But now with Windfall here, we can't do that anymore. So it's up to the Aquarians and guards to handle them."

The man asked, "So what do these Aquarians do to the bad guys they catch?"

The brunette woman shook her head, answering, "I don't know; probably arrest them I guess. Haven't seen an Aquarian in action, so who knows." Then she looked to the parent and child and asked, "So are you two okay?"

The mother and her daughter both smiled as the latter nodded. The former answered, "We are, thank you so much for coming to save us."

"Anytime,"
replied Kaitlyn returning the smile. To her coworker, she told him, "Come on, Eric. Let's get back to work."

"I'm coming,"
Eric replied as she began to leave the room.

The little girl waved, "Bye!"

Eric grinned back at her and said, "Bye, you and your mom take care now." Then he followed his coworker out the door. Kaitlyn went to go tell her brother about the dragoness and the broken window, while Eric went back to sweeping.
I was going to add a scene where Eric, Kaitlyn and maybe Charles watch the news in which they see Astyn attacking the market square, but I ran out of time thanks to me procrastinating like always. Anyway, I hope you like your gift, IDoNotExist.
